Iconix should create a crowdsourcing page for each of their brands

The benefits include:

1) Getting ideas for marketing, social media, viral videos and other areas. Rather than only rely on the small staff at Iconix for good ideas, the company should tap into the large customer base. Likewise, voting on ideas helps to bring the best ones to the top and sends the worst ones to the bottom, and gives the Iconix staff upfront feedback on which ideas resonate with people.

2) Engaging customers. Research has found that engaging customers is a major contributor to creating brand loyalty and increasing sales. Customers who engage with a brand are more likely to have positive feelings towards the brand, recommend the brand and its products to others and buy more. Crowdsourcing pages are a very low cost means of engagement.

3) Product ideas and product feedback. While product design is usually handles by the companies Iconix licenses to, Iconix could offer crowdsourced product ideas and product feedback (including on products in the design phase) to licensees. For example, a customer has a great idea for a Peanuts t-shirt. Or, designers of the Mossimo line are trying to choose between 10 new potential blouses and want customer feedback to help narrow it down to the 5 they will produce. Sales go up and the amount of markdowns they have to make on "duds" goes down. The increase in sales helps the licensees, the brands and Iconix. It's a win-win. Some licensees will use it much more than others, yet it's a great low-cost value added service.

There are over 15 websites that offer companies solutions for crowdsourcing ideas and voting, and most are low-cost. Some are listed at this forum: https://www.quora.com/What-websites-and-apps-allow-you-post-your-ideas-and-vote-on-other-peoples-ideas-like-Betterific-com
