Walmart has some success with low priced nylon team STARTER jackets. Starters heritage as I remember, centered on more substantial weight, prices and diversity. My,my..how this mighty player in team sport apparel has fallen! Walmart can handle $29.99 (or whatever) nylon jackets BUT do they have the foresight to make a better and costlier garment? It's a crime that we just passed through fall and winter with nylon jackets! Where was Iconix' s direction and advice?Sorely lacking!
Again, same mistake as Umbro. Iconix went for the quick buck.Walmart is unable to style and manufacture with the same verve that Starter once built up and enjoyed success. The longer you spit on Starter's heritage, the sooner you eradicate it. This line was definitely mis-placed in Walmart as you can see: evident by the lack of design, lack of build out, lack of advertising, and generally treated like a five and dime product. Is that what Iconix paid for? Certainly NOT.! You can sell millions of a cheap, unconstructed garment and at the end of the day, what are you left with, brand wise?A cheap and unimportant nobody line.
